Styling Our Furniture with Avocado’s Director of Interior Design

Whether you just snagged one of our timeless bed frames and a matching nightstand, can’t get enough of our Zero Waste Collection, or want to add natural wood touches to your bathroom, deciding how to style each piece in your home can feel overwhelming — especially if, like many of us, you don’t have a designer’s touch.

So, we asked Avocado’s Director of Interior Design, Joanna Harrison, to show us some of her favorite pieces and how she styles them in her home. We hope she inspires you to add a story of sustainability and eco-consciousness to your home with Avocado.

City Bed Frame

I love a tonal palette, and these terracotta sculptures play off the peachy tones in our beechwood nightstand and tie back to the graphic shape of its legs. The shelf is also the perfect area to style art books or keep your journal on hand for your nightly wind-down routine.

Zero Waste Slatted Bench

Our Zero Waste Bench is a fun piece to style in the bathroom. Place your fluffy towels here so they’re nearby after your bath, and layer on a tray for your self-care essentials.

Styled Another Way.

Our Zero Waste Slatted Bench is a real chameleon; it can be used in so many places, including the living room. Here, we’re styling it as a coffee table. I love styling this bench with conversation-starting art books and balancing them with a decorative tray. You can also add candle holders and hand-woven coasters for last-minute entertaining, or you can just sit back and enjoy it yourself!

Wooden Towel Ladder

I love this ladder because it’s functional for draping towels in the bathroom or even blankets in the living room, and it has a sweet little shelf for you to add a personal touch. I styled this with our Zero-Waste Vase and some dried florals to add an earthy vibe, or you can just style it with your prettiest self-care items.

Zero Waste Stool

Our zero-waste scallop stool is such a flexible piece and adds just the right amount of whimsy to any space. It’s also the ideal height for pairing with your favorite reading chair. I like to play up the sustainability factor by styling it with vintage books and our organic cotton throws. Then just kick back and enjoy the calming vibes!

Zero Waste Accent Table

Here’s a secret. You don’t have to go matchy-matchy with your side tables! Feel free to play with asymmetry, which is why I love layering up our Zero Waste Accent Table with our Zero Waste Scallop Stool for a nested look. Extra credit: you can even mix wood tones if you like! Top it off with a table lamp or a vase and your favorite books for a finishing touch.
