A restorative night’s sleep starts from within and radiates out, benefiting our lives in big and small ways. So let’s talk about something deep within: a special latex called Pure Talalay woven into our premium pillows, toppers, and mattresses. Pure Talalay is felt rather than seen—with a unique buoyancy and softness that’s different from others of its kind.
In order to demystify this miraculous material, we went straight to the source and asked our suppliers all about Pure Talalay latex: what it’s made from, how it works, and why it’s giving us the best sleep of our lives.
This interview has been edited for length and clarity.
Give us some fast facts on Pure Talalay latex. What is it, and how is it made?
Simply put, Pure Talalay is a latex solution that’s been proven superior in the industry. It’s derived from Hevea, which is the latex tree. We mix liquid latex and raw materials to create the perfect balance, resulting in a wonderfully soft feeling unlike any other material. Because Talalay latex is naturally antibacterial and hypoallergenic, it provides optimal airflow and a healthy environment with less mold, mildew, and bacteria—not to mention noticeable relief from pressure and tension. Some say it feels like laying on a cloud, but we know for sure that it helps you relax.

What’s the difference between Pure Talalay latex and Dunlop latex?
Our superior eight-step process creates the most consistent and breathable latex available on the market. It has a blend of buoyancy and durability that you really have to feel for yourself to believe. Unlike with other latex, there are a couple of steps we take that are totally unique to our Pure Talalay products:
- Vacuuming: A vacuum is used to pull and fill a mold with liquid latex, allowing for full control over consistency and quality of firmness. We believe this is one of the steps that makes our material superior.
- Freezing: The formula is flash-frozen at a temperature of 22 °F. This prevents particles from settling and locks in Pure Talalay’s unique cell structure. The cell structure is what allows air to flow naturally through it, which regulates temperature and moisture to keep you comfortable. In fact, Pure Talalay breathes up to seven times better than other foams.
When someone switches to a Pure Talalay latex mattress, topper, and pillow, what might they notice right away? And what might they notice in the long term?
People will notice that products made with Pure Talalay latex are more resilient and durable than fiber, feather, or foam pillows. They don’t flatten or sag over time like the others do. As the seasons change, Pure Talalay maintains the perfect temperature year-round, thanks to its remarkable thermoregulating properties. This helps you stay cool and comfortable during the summer months and warm throughout winter.
What sorts of common sleep issues do you think can be solved by switching to Pure Talalay latex?
Quite a few, actually. Switching to Pure Talalay could help:
- Alleviate neck and back pain
- Regulate body temperature
- Support the body at rest and provide pressure relief
- Minimize tossing and turning due to its superior comfort
- Deliver a restorative night’s sleep that alleviates the day’s tensions
