It’s lightly sweet, perfectly balanced and offers some functional benefits thanks to the chilled lemon balm tea.

So, why do these ingredients work so well together?

The tart richness of the pomegranate is the perfect match with the soft herbal notes of the lemon balm tea…while the maple syrup adds just enough sweetness to round everything out.

We love pomegranate juice for its vibrant color and delicious tart, yet slightly sweet flavor. Even better, it’s rich in naturally occurring antioxidants and works perfectly in mocktails with citrus.

Lemon balm tea has traditionally been used to promote relaxation and ease stress. Its delicate flavor is a lovely pairing with the tart pomegranate, and its calming elements make it perfect for sipping in the evening.

Orange juice adds a little brightness and natural sweetness, as well as helping to balance the deeper notes of the tea and pomegranate. We love using freshly squeezed juice as it has more nutrients, but bottled also works well here.

Maple syrup finishes everything off nicely and ties everything together with its rich flavor. Start with the recommended amount of ½ oz, then add a little extra at the end if you need to.

Evening Elixir Mocktail

Ingredients

  • 2 oz pomegranate juice
  • 3 oz chilled lemon balm tea
  • 1 oz orange juice
  • 1 sprig rosemary
  • ½ oz maple syrup

Optional Garnish

  • Orange wheel
  • Rosemary
  • Pomegranate arils

Add the pomegranate juice, chilled lemon balm tea, orange juice, rosemary and maple syrup to a shaker with some ice. Shake for around 10-15 to combine. Strain over fresh ice and garnish with your choice of orange, rosemary, and/or pomegranate arils.

Tips: Brew a double strength lemon balm tea to increase both flavor and benefits.
